2009 Christmas Wish List

Gift Ideas for Scott

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER!

Games

  • Bioshock (PC-Windows). I actually purchased this game before, but lost the game manual with the activation code on it. When my hard drive crashed in July '09, I had no way to reinstall it. However, I still want to play it, as I think it is one of the best FPS games there is, so I need another copy.
  • Resident Evil 5 (PC-Windows).
  • Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (Wii)
  • Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath (PC-Windows, expansion to C&C3 original game). Take care, this is for the Kane's Wrath expansion, not the original game. I already have the original game.

spot lights MOVIES!

Blue Ray or DVD, Widescreen HIGHLY preferred

New Movies (in order of interest)

  • Star Trek
Star Trek XI; unlike previous films, this one has no extended title.
  • Unbreakable
  • Terminator: Salvation
Not as good as it should have been, but still worth adding to my collection.
  • Up

Lost Movies

These films I used to own, but they have disappeared, and I would like a replacement copy.
  • The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
  • Black Hawk Down

Books

  • Impossible Extinction: Natural catastrophes and the supremacy of the microbial world -- by Charles S. Cockell

A nice power strip for my server in the basement, rack-mount if there is such a thing (a UPS would be too expensive, so just a power strip will do, be it rack-mount or not). My Opti-UPS rack-mount died after only a few years of service. I've never had a UPS completely die before. This is the same UPS that I couldn't access the web-based configuration page for because the published default log-in ID and password would not work. The same UPS that I called customer support regarding the log-in problems and got no help on. And it wasn't cheap. Never buy Opti-UPS. Having it completely shut down while the power to the house is still on is the exact opposite of what a UPS is supposed to do.

Power requirements are not too much. Just need to power a regular PC with a 15 inch CRT and 2 to 4 security cameras which don't draw too much. CRT is off most of the time.

Odds and Ends
  • Battery storage case. Not just a retarded plastic box. Something actually made for batteries. As an example: Example battery rack. I'm not specifically wanting the one in the example (though it would be a good choice)...it's just an example.
  • An extra Firestorm 24v battery pack for our power tools
